About Perugia

One of Italy’s most exciting cultural hubs, Perugia is the lively and youthful capital of Umbria. At its heart lies the medieval Priori Palace. This palace turned art museum practically overflows with masterpieces, dating from the 13th-century onwards. While the city is big on visual arts, it is also renowned for its music. In addition to countless nightly events, the Umbria Jazz Festival takes place here every October.

Perugia is awash with curiosities from throughout the ages. Take a stroll through its centre and you’ll find the striking Fontana Maggiore fountain, which dates back to medieval times. Sculpted in the 13th-century, it portrays a varied mix of Roman mythology, biblical scenes and zodiacal imagery in an experimental and eclectic splicing of styles that is particularly unusual for the era.

All of our luxury villas in Perugia are located close to the city, promising exquisite views of the understated Umbrian countryside. Rich with vineyards, try a wine tasting experience in one of the local cellars. Otherwise, let us arrange for an expert to bring a few bottles directly to your villa. If you don’t want to dine out, we can also organise a chef to come and cook for you. Traditional Umbrian cuisine is straightforward but hearty. You can expect to enjoy some delicious game, including locally reared rabbit and succulent pork. And all from the perfect seclusion of your Umbrian villa.
