About Siena & San Gimignano

Vibrant Siena is the sort of city made to get lost in. Time will run away with you as you wander its winding cobbled streets, enjoying eye-catching architecture and delectable eateries on almost every corner. At the heart of Siena is the famous Piazza del Campo, overlooked by the city’s most iconic landmark, Torre del Mangia. The white turreted roof of the 14th-century tower offers unrivalled vistas across the patchwork of buildings below, and the rolling Tuscan countryside beyond. Perfect for coffee, cake or a traditional Italian ice cream, Piazza del Campo is also known for the Palio Run. Taking part twice a year, this spectacular event sees horses racing wild around the rather civilised square. A pretty drive leads to the medieval walled town of San Gimignano. Looking curiously like a modern high-rise skyline in miniature, the unique history of tower building explains the individuality of this settlement. Building a larger tower than your neighbour was considered a sign of wealth and power, suggesting that San Gimignano’s exclusive architecture must speak volumes about its social status! Our luxury villas in Siena and San Gimignano can be found tucked into the countryside, at the heart of Siena, or overlooking the stoic towers of San Gimignano. For a family retreat or a getaway with friends, our well-equipped villas combine pools and open plan living with a sophisticated sense of style. Rest assured, this will be the most relaxing of retreats.
